總結: | In Malaysia, the concept of sustainable development especially in interior decoration is still in its infancy. The government has worked to promote the adoption of sustainability in the development of these properties. It aims to apply the concept of sustainability in property development and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the country. In line with that, this study aims to deepen the knowledge, awareness and application of environmentally friendly design elements among interior designers in Kuala Lumpur by focusing on exploratory studies. In addition, the quantitative method approach (questionnaire), mean analysis and regression analysis methods are used to achieve the objectives of the study that have been set. The main findings show that the level of knowledge, awareness and application of interior designers to environmentally friendly design is at a low level. There are 18 variables that were found to influence the low level of knowledge, awareness and application among interior designers. The variables consist of experience, education, employment sector, employment status, sustainable, needs, environmental friendliness, global warming, returns, energy saving, allocation, guidelines, incentives, conducive, courses, conducive, incentives and environmental quality. This study is also able to provide a comprehensive picture related to environmental issues that can be used as a guide to policy makers. Thus, this study clearly shows that there is the need for the role of stakeholders in ensuring property development, especially interior decoration, to apply environmentally friendly design elements and to in turn create sustainable development in Malaysia. |
