Summary:This study investigates the moratorium issues in the Islamic banking sector where several expert opinions and shariah issues will be studied. This study uses qualitative and quantitative methods where the qualitative method elaborates on the findings from interviews and the quantitative method deals with the financial report of selected Islamic banks in Malaysia. The findings show that several countries introduced different financial initiatives such as moratorium in facing pandemic COVID 19 issues. At the same time moratorium also contains several Shariah issue which needs to be addressed by Islamic banking operators so that they can offer moratorium package to customers within Shariah parameters.
