Industrial Accident Prevention Road safety has been raised as a critical problem among Malaysian employees. SOCSO had spent nearly millions for training and rehabilitation to those employees who had involved in commuting accident. Safety awareness had influenced employee safety behaviour directly and indirectly. This study aimed to access the relationship between safety behaviour and safety awareness towards commuting accidents among Kuala Lumpur SOCSO staff. The hypothesis for this study were developed based on research questions and objectives to express the relationship between safety behaviour (safety participation and safety compliance) and safety awareness (safety knowledge and safety motivation). A self-administrative questionnaire was applied for data collection which involved 180 SOCSO staff in Kuala Lumpur. Raw data collection process was analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) Version 25.0 specifically for descriptive and inferential analysis. The regression analysis revealed that safety participation has a positive significant relationship towards the dependent variables which are safety knowledge and safety motivation. The impact showed that SOCSO should conduct more campaigns and awareness programmes on cultivating road safety to employees. Employees also should be given training related to road safety to reduce commuting accident statistics. Comprehensively, this study may provide guidance to the Government on enforcement of strict traffic rules and procedures to reduce accident rates in Malaysia. 2021 Thesis https://etd.uum.edu.my/9927/ https://etd.uum.edu.my/9927/1/permission%20to%20use-NOT%20ALLOWED.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/9927/2/s824660_01.pdf text eng staffonly https://etd.uum.edu.my/9927/3/s824660_02.pdf text eng staffonly other masters Universiti Utara Malaysia |
