Instrumen kajian ialah soal selidik pencapaian akademik (SSPA) yang dibinamengandungi 59 item dengan kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan tinggi serta dilakukan kajian rintisterlebih dahulu. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi pelbagai dengan perisian SPSSdan analisis laluan dengan perisian AMOS. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan faktor gaya belajar (β=0.27),motivasi belajar (β=0.22), prestasi akademik pelajar (UPSR) (β=0.20), kualiti pengajaran (β=0.18),persekitaran keluarga (β=0.16) merupakan penyumbang signifikan terhadap pencapaian akademik sekolahprestasi cemerlang manakala faktor kuantiti pengajaran, persekitaran bilik darjah dan persekitaranrakan sebaya adalah tidak signifikan. Berbeza bagi sekolah prestasi tidak cemerlang iaitu faktorpersekitaran bilik darjah (β=0.40), kualiti pengajaran (β=0.25), prestasi akademik pelajar (UPSR)(β=0.23), persekitaran keluarga (β=0.14), motivasi belajar (β=0.13), dan kuantiti pengajaran(β=0.10) merupakan penyumbang signifikan terhadap pencapaian akademik pelajar manakala faktor gayabelajar dan persekitaran rakan sebaya adalah tidak signifikan. Dapatan analisis laluan bagi sekolahprestasi cemerlang menunjukkan bahawa domain pengajaran merupakan penyumbang tertinggi berbandingdomain bakat dan domain persekitaran. Berlainan bagi sekolah prestasi tidak cemerlang domainpersekitaran merupakan penyumbang paling tinggi berbanding domain pengajaran dan domain bakat. Inimemberikan implikasi bahawa bagi sekolah prestasi cemerlang domain pengajaran perlu diutamakan,manakala bagi sekolah prestasi tidak cemerlang lebihbergantung kepada domain persekitaran berbanding domain pengajaran.
