Kesahan konstruk dan kebolehpercayaan instrumendiperolehi dengan menjalankan kajian rintis pertama terhadap 50 pengajar ILK dan kajian rintiskedua terhadap 50 pengajar ILK. Dapatan menggunakan perisian Winstep 3.72.3 berdasarkan pendekatanmodel pengukuran Rasch mengekalkan 58 item pengetahuan dan 100 item kemahiran. Kajian sebenardilaksanakan ke atas 249 tenaga pengajar ILK menghasilkan kebolehpercayaan responden (0.82) dankebolehpercayaan item (0.98) bagi konstruk pengetahuan manakala kebolehpercayaan responden (0.99)dan kebolehpercayaan item (0.99) bagi konstruk kemahiran. Indeks pengasingan responden (2.13) danindeks pengasingan item (6.69) bagi konstruk pengetahuan manakala indeks pengasingan responden(8.33) dan indeks pengasingan item (12.56) bagi konstruk kemahiran. Instrumen KTeA mengekalkansebanyak 39 item pengetahuan dan 90 item kemahiran. Ini menunjukkan instrumen KTeA adalah instrumenyang baik kerana memenuhi piawaian psikometrik dan boleh digunakan oleh tenaga pengajar bagimengukur tahap kompetensi pengetahuan dan kemahiran. Impak kajian ini adalah instrumen KTeA bolehdijadikan alat pengukuran kompetensi pengetahuan dan kemahiran serta dijadikan rujukan untukmeningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemahiran dalam teknologi automotif.
