Summary:Malaysia is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multilingual country. The special multi-historical background and the diversity of internal dialects in Malaysian Chinese society contributed to Malaysia unique multi-lingual environment. The main languages used in Malaysia are Malay, English, Chinese and Tamil. Due to the different language contact for a long time, a multilingual hybrid mixed type of language had been formed, and a unique landscape of language has established. This study was carried out based on the theories in the field of sociolinguistics. Using the method of questionnaire in a survey, investigated the language usage and language attitude of the Malaysian young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor. First, this thesis begins from the concept of language attitude, explains the value of the research, and the main methods of language attitude was briefly introduced. Second, a review into the domestic and foreign scholars' research on the phenomenon of language attitudes and related language phenomenon was done. At the same time, the research content and meaning are also introduced in this thesis. It is followed by the focus on Malaysian Chinese language education and language background. Education is an important way of cultural heritage, and language is the carrier of culture, from the situation that the Chinese people defend mother tongue education, Malaysian Chinese in terms of inheriting the national culture adhere to the tough attitude. With the reform and development of the society, language status has changed. The advancement of science and technology, the improvement of the education system improve the people's living standard, which affects the usage of language. The language usage of thousands of young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor was analyzed. Like most of the Malaysian Chinese, young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor possess multi-lingual ability. They have kept in contacts with a variety of languages, including Malay, English, Chinese and other dialects since young, which made their language usage very much complex. Finally, language attitudes and opinions of young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor was discussed. In the emotional aspects, they feel more passionate towards the Chinese language; in terms of utility, they agreed that English language played a more significant role. However, this younger generation seemed to reject the "dialect complex as compared to the older generations. Meanwhile, young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor also gradually accepted and adopted a mixed languageusage, and held the opinion that this is a kind of local language feature. This study of language usage and language attitude of young Chinese in Rawang, Selangor, can provide a preliminary forecast the milestone of Malaysia language development the trend in the future. In conclusion, this study and provides an empirical example of language concept and language usage in a multi-cultural environment. The study adds to the body of knowledge for the teaching of mu Iti-I ingual. Key Words: Malaysian Chinese; Language Use; Language Attitude; survey
