Tiga jenis instrumen telah digunakan dalam kajian ini iaituParenting Practices Questionnaire (PPQ) dan Active Parenting Publisher (APP) untuk mengenal pastijenis gaya keibubapaan ibu bapa berpendidikan tinggi, dan The Sullivan Emotional Intelligent Scalefor Children (EISC) untuk melihat tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak- kanak tadika. Kajian ini jugamenggunakan Berkeley Puppet Interview (BPI) sebagai medium perantara semasa mengumpul data.Analisis deskriptif menjelaskan tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika, manakala analisisinferensi pula melibatkan ujian korelasi yang menerangkan hubungan antara pembolehubah kajian.Dapatan kajian menunjukkan gaya keibubapaan yang paling tinggi adalah gaya keibubapaan autoritariandan tahap kecerdasan emosi keseluruhan kanak-kanak tadika berada di tahap yang sederhana. Analisiskorelasi pula menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (p = 0.000 < α 0.05 2-tailed) antarakesemua gaya keibubapaan (r autoritarian= 0.757, r autoritatif = 0.783, r permisif = 0.798) dengan tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak- kanaktadika di daerah Petaling Utama, Selangor. Selain itu, dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan terdapathubungan yang signifikan (p = 0.000 < α 0.05 2-tailed) antara gaya keibubapaan berpendidikan tinggi(autoritarian) dengan setiap domain dalam kecerdasan emosi (r tahu mengenal emosi = 0.590, r tahumemahami emosi = 0.575, r tahu mengawal emosi = 0.575, r tahu mengguna emosi = 0.448).Kesimpulannya, kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa jenis gaya keibubapaan yang diamalkan oleh ibu bapamemberi kesan kepada tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika. Implikasinya, kajian menunjukkanbahawa tahap kecerdasan emosi kanak-kanak tadika bergantungkepada jenis gaya keibubapaan yang diamalkan oleh ibu bapa mereka.
