Instrumen kajian adalah berasaskan protokol temubual yang mendalam dan menyeluruh secara tidak berstruktur.Data kajian telah dianalisis secaradeskriptif dan naratif untuk mengenal pasti tema-tema yang muncul. Teknik triangulasi data daripadahasil temu bual pelajar dan guru, analisis dokumen seperti rekod disiplin, rekod kehadiran, danrekod pencapaian akademik serta pemerhatian telah dilakukan bagi menentukan kesahan dankebolehpercayaan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan berlakunya kes buli dalam kalangan pelajar di sekolahmenengah di luar bandar berdasarkan tema- tema utama yang muncul seperti kesan buli dari aspekemosi dan kesan buli ke atas tingkah laku. Dapatan kajian juga mendapati jenis buli yang lazimberlaku ialah buli emosi yang menyebabkan konflik dan krisis dari aspek perlakuan, pemikiran, danperasaan pelajar yang menjadi mangsa buli. Kesimpulan kajian mendapati buli buli terhadap emosilebih banyak berlaku berbanding buli tingkah laku. Implikasi kajian menunjukkan bahawa buli telahmeninggalkan kesan negatif terhadap mangsa dari aspek emosi dan tingkah laku pelajar serta persepsinegatif mangsa buli terhadap dunia sebenarmereka.
