Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberkesanan</p><p>Program Latihan Keseimbangan (PLK) dalam peningkatan kawalan keseimbangan</p><p>statik, dinamik dan tahap kefungsian keseimbangan bagi mencegah risiko terjatuh</p><p>dalam kalangan warga tua. Kajian ini berbentuk eksperimen benar menggunakan</p><p>praujian dan pascaujian dengan kumpulan kawalan. Seramai 78 orang warga tua yang</p><p>berumur 65-85 tahun mengambil bahagian secara sukarela dalam kajian ini. Mereka</p><p>diagihkan secara rawak kepada tiga kumpulan iaitu Kumpulan Eksperimen (EG),</p><p>Kumpulan Plasebo (PG) dan Kumpulan Kawalan (CG). EG menerima intervensi PLK,</p><p>PG menerima intervensi Program Latihan Plasebo dan CG tidak menerima sebarang</p><p>intervensi, tetapi mengekalkan aktiviti normal. Intervensi bagi EG dan PG dijalankan</p><p>selama enam minggu, tiga sesi seminggu selama lebih kurang sejam. Instrumen kajian</p><p>ialah Sistem Pemarkahan Ralat Keseimbangan yang menguji keseimbangan statik,</p><p>Ujian Keseimbangan Y yang menguji keseimbangan dinamik dan Skala</p><p>Keseimbangan Berg yang menguji tahap kefungsian keseimbangan dan ketiga-tiga</p><p>instrumen pengukuran tersebut memperoleh kebolehpercayaan uji-ulang-uji yang</p><p>tinggi (ICC=0.772-0.903). Berdasarkan keputusan analisis melalui MANOVA,</p><p>dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa EG berjaya memperoleh peningkatan kawalan</p><p>keseimbangan statik [F(4,148)=14.620, p=0.000], kawalan keseimbangan dinamik</p><p>[F(6,146)=12.286, p=0.000] dan tahap kefungsian keseimbangan [F(12,140)=2.027,</p><p>p=0.026] secara signifikan berbanding dengan PG dan CG. Intervensi PLK selama</p><p>enam minggu ini adalah berkesan untuk meningkatkan kawalan keseimbangan statik,</p><p>kawalan keseimbangan dinamik dan tahap kefungsian keseimbangan dalam kalangan</p><p>warga tua. Disarankan para pegawai kesihatan, pengurus rumah kebajikan warga tua</p><p>dan organisasi kesihatan boleh mengguna pakai intervensi PLK bagi meningkatkan</p><p>kawalan keseimbangan warga tua serta dapat mengurangkan risiko terjatuh.</p>
