| Summary: | This research discusses the prominence, leadership and contributions of Tan Sri Senu Abdul Rahman as a politician. This research opens with the background and memoirs of Senu as a student at SITC and explains in detail how he used his writing and the media in his struggles up until the time he became involved in politics. The researcher attempts to relate his meritorious efforts and contributions through language education which he received, especially during his time studying at SITC. The Malay language education which Senu received played an important role in expanding his thoughts on nationality and his achievements in his political career. His awareness of the importance of the English language heightened his enthusiasm to become an exemplary figure as a national leader, and in the end his name was placed on the list of the countrys nationalists. Senus prominence and determination in his political struggles and other affairs benefited the position of the national language. He set a good example for todays generation, since Senu represents a man whom is willing to undergo various obstacles and difficulties primarily for the sake of the Malay race, through the field which is loved most by him, namely politics. |
