description <p>Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk membangunkan Modul Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek (MPBP) bagi latihan kimpalan dalam kursus Amalan Bengkel Mekanikal serta menentukan kesannya terhadap pencapaian pelajar di Politeknik. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kuasi eksperimen Solomon empat kumpulan (dua kumpulan rawatan dan dua kumpulan kawalan) dengan menggunakan ujian pra dan pasca. Isi kandungan modul MPBP telah dibangunkan menggunakan teori konstruktivisme yang sesuai untuk Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek (PBP). Manakala untuk membangunkan modul MPBP maka model Dick dan Raiser yang mempunyai tujuh fasa telah digunakan. Modul MPBP telah dijalankan selama empat minggu untuk kumpulan rawatan. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 110 orang pelajar daripada tiga buah Politeknik yang telah pilih secara rawak berstrata dan rawak kluster. Manakala strata dalam kajian adalah lokasi Politeknik. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada ujian (pra dan pasca), inventori gaya pembelajaran Index Learning Style (ILS) dan soal selidik kebolehpasaran pelajar. Kesemua instrumen telah disahkan oleh sembilan (9) orang pakar bidang. Hasil ujian ANOVA menunjukkan terdapat kesan yang signifikan Modul MPBP berdasarkan ujian pasca [F=(3,106)=45.21; p<0.05]. Dapatan inventori gaya pembelajaran ILS menunjukkan majoriti responden mempunyai gaya pembelajaran aktif (81%). Dapatan soal selidik kebolehpasaran menunjukkan responden percaya bahawa mereka memiliki kemahiran kritis (min=4.40; SP=0.61), kemahiran kerja berpasukan (min=4.44; SP= 0.62) serta kemahiran komunikasi (min=4.34; SP= 0.65). Kesimpulannya, modul MPBP didapati berkesan untuk meningkatkan pencapaian pelajar dalam kursus amali kimpalan TIG. Implikasi kajian menunjukkan bahawa modul MPBP dapat dijadikan salah satu bahan bantu mengajar untuk kursus amali kimpalan bukan sahaja di Politeknik malah boleh digunakan di institusi latihan vokasional di Malaysia.</p>
