Summary:<p>This study aimed to identify the display of the elements of Lord Shivas Sorubam and</p><p>Thadatham in Thirunaavukkarasars songs based on the theories found in the Saiva</p><p>Sidhantham. Rooted on the theory, Sivanyabotham is referred to in context of this</p><p>research to analyze the display of the focussed elements. The methodology used in this</p><p>research is of mixed method, whereby both qualitative and quantitative method were used</p><p>descriptively based on the analysis of the texts used in Thirunaavukkarasars songs. Data</p><p>is obtained through document analysis and questionnaire. 100 Thirunaavukkarasars</p><p>songs were used for data collection through document analysis. The questionnaire</p><p>consists of 3 parts with 24 items in total, with Part A consisting of seven items pertaining</p><p>to Thirunaavukkarasar, Part B with 10 items pertaining to Enkunanggal, and Part C</p><p>with seven items pertaining to Aintholil. Data obtained is analyzed thematically and</p><p>percentage wise. Based on the analysis of 100 Thirunaavukkarasars songs, the results</p><p>show that 96 out of the 100 Thirunaavukkarasars songs which were analysed display the</p><p>element of Sorubam, and 79 out of the 100 songs display the element of Thadatham.</p><p>The research also identified that the understanding about Thirunaavukkarasar is</p><p>considerably low among the Hindus in context of this research. The research findings has</p><p>stressed on the necessary steps that should be taken to increase the understanding of</p><p>Hindus about Thirunaavukkarasar, Sorubam and Thadatham. In conclusion, the</p><p>findings show that Lord Shiva bestows the elements of Sorubam and Thadatham upon</p><p>his devotees to fulfill their lives. The implications of this research is in which, it</p><p>encourages Hindus to gain deeper understanding and awareness towards</p><p>Thirunaavukkarasar, Sorubam and Thadatham, and to focus on a broader</p><p>comperehension of the greatness of Lord Shiva.</p>
