Qualitative approaches using Evolve Grounded Theory as a</p><p>methodological framework. Fourteen head coaches from Malaysian State Sports</p><p>School were chosen following the stratified purposive sampling and theoretical</p><p>sampling. An in-depth semi-structured interview with open-ended was carried out and</p><p>analysed following the principle of evolved grounded theory and constant comparative</p><p>method advocated by Strauss and Corbin (1998). Based on the analysis, the following</p><p>six core categories and eighteen subcategories emerged that make up the effective</p><p>coaching in coaching process; i) coaching knowledge (professional knowledge,</p><p>psychological knowledge), ii) coaching philosophy (characteristics, holistic</p><p>approach), iii) planning (coaching syllabus, signature coaching, individual</p><p>development, fun elements, risk management), iv) deliver (heuristic, empowerment,</p><p>spirituality), v) analysing (evaluating, observation, monitoring) and vi) outcome</p><p>(competence, life skills, coaching intervention). The research aims were achieved, and</p><p>the effective coaching process model will hopefully provide an impetus to examine</p><p>other coaching processes and strategies and techniques to ensure all coaches are well</p><p>supported, trained, and developed. The study's implication is expected to be valuable</p><p>to all the development of football coaches as a tool in their coaching program.</p>
