Kajian antibakteria pula, menggunakan kaedah penyebaran cakera ke</p><p>atas enam jenis bakteria dengan kepekatan ekstrak yang berbeza. Sementara itu, S.</p><p>ilicifolium telah diekstrak menggunakan pelarut dengan kepekatan yang berbeza untuk</p><p>dijadikan sebagai hormon penggalak pertumbuhan pokok cili. Hasil kajian</p><p>menunjukkan S. ilicifolium mengandungi alkaloid, terpenoid, tanin, saponin dan</p><p>flavonoid. Ujian toksisiti menunjukkan nilai LC50 yang berbeza dalam lingkungan</p><p>bertoksik (30 1000 mg ml-l) untuk kesemua ekstrak mentah iaitu heksana (234.42 mg</p><p>ml-1), methanol (371.54 mg ml-1), diklorometana (549.54 mg ml -1) dan air (93.33 mg</p><p>ml-1). Ini membuktikan semua ekstrak dianggap sebagai bertoksik. Bagi hasil kajian</p><p>antibakteria pula, ekstrak air S. ilicifolium menunjukkan aktiviti perencatan tertinggi</p><p>terhadap bakteria gram negatif, Escherichia coli (12.67 1.2 mm). Kepekatan yang</p><p>rendah bagi ekstrak diklorometana (0.5mg-1) memberikan percambahan biji benih cili</p><p>yang paling tinggi berbanding kawalan. Daripada sepuluh parameter yang dikaji, hasil</p><p>menunjukkan lapan parameter iaitu panjang pokok cili (24.9 sm), panjang ruas (3.6</p><p>sm), diameter buah (12.18 mm), lebar daun (11.5 sm) panjang buah (113.86 mm), berat</p><p>segar buah (7.8 g), panjang akar (15.9 sm) dan bilangan daun (30 helai) memberikan</p><p>perbezaan min yang signifikan berbanding kawalan. Kesimpulannya, ekstrak S.</p><p>ilicifolium adalah bertoksik, mengandungi sifat antibakteria dan mempunyai metabolit</p><p>sekunder yang menggalakkan pertumbuhan pokok cili. Implikasinya, S. ilicifolium</p><p>berpotensi untuk digunakan dalam pelbagai aktiviti biologi seperti penskrinan</p><p>fitokimia, pigmentasi, antibakteria, toksisiti dan sebagai hormon penggalak</p><p>pertumbuhan pokok cili.</p> |
