总结:Vocabulary acquisition is one of the key elements of learning a language, especially a second language. Besides vocabulary, other skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening are vital as well. The widespread use of technology has given a new dimension to learning a language. It promotes a more fun and enjoyable learning environment, especially to young learners. This case study investigated the impact of an English language programme in facilitating the acquisition of a given set of new vocabulary items based on the TV series “Oh My English!”. A total of 70 young learners aged around 9-10 years old whose first language is not English were selected from a primary school in Ampang, Selangor. The study employed a quasi-experimental design which involved a pre-test and a post-test for two groups; a controlled group (N=35) and an experimental or treatment group (N=35). The control group did not follow the programme, while the treatment group watched the TV series in video format for about 30 minutes for each session over 8 weeks. The findings of the study show that the TV series created a significant impact on the young learners' acquisition of target vocabulary items. The findings of this study suggest that an educational TV programme such as “Oh My English!” is a potentially useful tool in helping non-native English speakers acquire or learn vocabulary
