Summary:Music is one of the subjects preferred by primary school students. There are four main areas namely singing, music and movement, play percussion instruments and musical notation system. Music notation system is one of the areas that should be studied by every student. However, most students cannot master the topics related to the system of musical notation. They are also less interested in these topics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the games to improve the mastery musical notation among school children. In this research, games of "Music Box" were used to overcome these problems. 10 respondents have undergone 2 sessions of teaching and learning using these games. The instruments used were Pre Test, Post Test, Observations and Questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the game successful in raising mastery of musical notation topic. In addition, the games can also increase the interest of students and enjoyable activity.
