resources practices and Kotter Model of Change and the job performance in small and
medium-sized enterprises in Lebanon. This study also aimed at exploring the extent of
the impact of employees job satisfaction as a mediating variable on the relationship
between human resources practices, Kotter Change Model of Change and job
performance of such small and medium-sized enterprises. This study used the
quantitative research design, using a questionnaire as an instrument to collect the data.
The research community reached 601285 workers in these institutions in all Lebanon.
A random sample (384) from different Lebanese regions was identified to collect the
required information through the questionnaire.550 questionnaires were distributed to
small and medium-sized enterprises in different areas of Lebanon, but only 400
questionnaires were collected and analyzed, with 72.7% response rate. SPSS and Amos
were used to analyze the quantitative data in order examine the hypotheses of the study.
The results of the study showed that human resources practices namely: planning,
training, and evaluation were positively related to the job performance. The results also
showed that the relationship between human resource practices and job performance
remain positive with employees’ satisfaction as a mediator. The results also showed that
the 8 steps of Kotter Model of Change had an impact on the organizational performance.
The results also showed that the employees prefer to be involved in any change process
that may happen. Financial compensation and salaries were also positively related to
organizational performance in the small and medium-sized companies in Lebanon. |
