Summary:The main purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between Human Resource Management functions and employee’s tendency of turnover in an organization at Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd. (PTP). A questionnaire was administered to 103 PTP employees from non-managerial to managerial employers from variety of departments in PTP.The results from the findings shows that the 6 functions of Human Resource Management like talent acquisition, corporate culture, motivation, training and career development, performance management and reward and compensation itself have negative relationship with employee’s tendency of turnover whereby motivation, performance management and reward and compensation are significant. The result also shows that the correlation level between both variables were very low. The multiple regression analysis also shows that, the main factor that contributes to tendency of turnover is reward and compensation.Therefore, the management of Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd., should review its reward and compensation strategy in order to retain its talent and therefore could reduce employee’s turnover. By having talented employees who would want to stay long with the organization; it could support PTP in achieving its vision "To be the Preferred Port of Choice in South East Asia".
