總結:The concept and elements of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is increasingly integrated extensively by companies and corporations in Malaysia, but an interesting question that this study attempts to seek is the adoption and application of the concept and elements of CSR in local authorities. This is because local authorities, as a grass-root level of government closest to the lives of the local people, aside from focusing on their core functions to provide municipal services, should also pay particular attention to the practice of CSR that can be embedded in their programs so as to add value to their services and contribute to improve the quality of life in their area of jurisdiction. If mobilized with the ability of local corporations, CSR implementation by local authorities can resuscitate the development of a community and fill in the gap or void that exist in the development and welfare of the community in the area. This study aims to look at the application of CSR at the selected local authority, namely the Kangar Municipal Council (MPK), in terms of the method of implementation, the impact of implementation and the constraints encountered. Consequently, it will also enable suitable strategies and measures to be proposed to strengthen the implementation of CSR towards transforming local government services and increase the well-being of the people in the administration and operation area of MPK.
